My last order for our time over here in Texas, a Frozen cake for a gorgeous 3 year old. This cake was super simple, using an Elsa doll as the base. I only had a day to get this one together and thankfully nothing went wrong!

I had planned to attend the opening of Carlo’s Bakery Dallas on Saturday 19 March but I didn’t quite make it. After flying in late on Friday from Toronto I wasn’t in the right spirits to stand in a line for hours.

I decided on this colour palette before the weather forecast came out! What a day to make a cake, Texas storms and tornado warnings!!! Grey, grey, and more grey.

Halloween has hit us again! It really has come around quickly this year, it seems like only yesterday that we were organising last year’s party and treats. This year will be a much quieter affair, just a few extra kids staying over, no big party.

An Englishman, an Irishman, and an Australian walk into a pub…… Ha, ha, we’ve all heard the jokes! This is exactly what happened here in Fort Worth last week. We have been lucky enough to be invited to a 4th of July party out at a friend’s lake house this year! Woo hoo!!! I decided it would be easier to transport (2 hour drive) and serve cake pops instead of a large cake. I spotted this design on Pinterest from Party City and gave […]

To accompany the cake for the Texas Baby Shower, I made some cute little cookies. I have had my Texas cookie cutter since we arrived here in Texas and it has come in very handy on a number of occasions. I used Veena’s Vanilla Sugar Cookie recipe for the first time and found it to […]

So excited!!! Another baby is due very soon here in our friendship group in Texas. I was so excited to be asked to make a cake, and after many ideas, I finally decided on a cot. I managed to sneak a photo of the new bub’s cot and based the cake on that.
Hot Cross Easter Bunnies

Wow, Easter sure has come around quickly this year! Today is Good Friday here in Texas and it isn’t really feeling like Easter as the kids go to school on Good Friday and Easter Monday. So, I thought I’d do some Easter baking. As there is not an abundance of Hot Cross Buns here in […]
Valentine’s Day!

Ok, so Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and I really haven’t organised anything! It is a HUGE deal over here in the States, so completely ignoring it is not recommended! Chocolate covered strawberries are very popular here for Valentine’s Day, and who doesn’t love a big, juicy strawberry smothered in chocolate? You can purchase them at […]
