Our lovely friends’ youngest turned one on Saturday, so naturally we had a cocktail party to celebrate! The invitations were hilarious. Campbell was dressed in a Hawaiian shirt with party hat, streamers and a cocktail glass filled with jelly. A paper umbrella added topped it all off. All 3 boys in the family have food […]

I recently had a call from a lovely girl trying to organise her parent’s 5oth birthday. She sent me a picture of a cake with a bride and groom sitting on the end of a pier. The price she had been quoted previously by another business was way out their budget.

Masterchef certainly has inspired my 10 year old to request recipes even more than usual. The presence of recipe cards at the supermarkets has prompted a collection of recipes that she wants to try. With all the hype regarding Angus Beef lately and every fast food outlet having their own version of an Angus Burger, we thought it […]

My lovely sister-in-law is intolerant to dairy, gluten, soy, and some other miscellaneous ingredients so you can imagine how hard it is for her to find a good cake! The week after her 30th birthday she came to visit so I made her a birthday cake to celebrate this significant milestone.

This month was my turn to host Bunco. Bunco is a fun, easy, social dice game that gets a group of 12 of us together for a night of games, dessert, and bubbles.
Quick Handbag Cake

My birthday has been and gone for another year but was an excuse to make another cake! This year the kids and I decided to do a handbag cake. We cheated a little using a wooden handbag handle instead of making it out of sugar. Inside a lemon vanilla cake with raspberry meringue buttercream icing. […]
