Vegetable Patch Cakes

Last weekend saw 3 friends (all mid 70’s) celebrate their birthdays together.

As each of these friends has a vegetable plot at Pialligo, my Dad organised a small cake for each as a surprise.

All of the cakes had cabbages, carrots, and broccoli decorating them. Then each one had a different vegetable/fruit to represent the individual plots. One had gourds, one had a gooseberry bush, and one had a tomato vine.

The cake inside was rich chocolate with coffee liqueur soaked raisins, and a hint of orange. They were very well received

  1. What a wonderful surprise. The cake was delicious and the decoration amazing. Thank you from a mid seventy year old.
