It’s a wrap!
Birthday time for me, that sure came around again quickly!
I’ve been wanting to do a cake with an edible image wrapped around it for quite some time now, and today I had the perfect excuse.
As the weather is starting to warm up finally, I decided on a tropical theme this year. The lovely staff at Latorta printed off an A3 edible image for me. I popped it on top of a white chocolate ganached cake and it worked a treat.
I made some gold leaves using wafer paper and made some chocolates to resemble the shape of a pineapple. The sphere chocolates are Lindt balls dusted with Dior Gold lustre dust.
I was super lucky this year and was given some fancy LED lights to help me with my photography. I had a quick play around with them tonight, they have yellow and white LEDs and you can see the difference below.
The cake itself is a vanilla cake, layered with pineapple curd and swiss meringue buttercream. The whole thing was covered in sour cream white chocolate ganache before adding the edible image. I painted the top with pink Edible Arts Paint, super quick and easy.
Looks beautiful. Can’t beat that!
