Swiss meringue buttercream……mmmmmmmmm. This cake was covered in the good stuff!
Pastel swirls and stars were the only decoration this cake needed. A triple birthday celebration was the occasion, Grandma and two granddaughters all born in June.
The bottom tier was red velvet cake layered with swiss meringue buttercream, the top being a vanilla sponge layered with the traditional jam and cream.
Accompanying the cake were some vanilla sugar cookies, decorated using the same watercolour technique as the cookies in my Watercolour Cookies post. I have been playing with different painting techniques lately and will post my one stroke technique cookies soon.
