Milk & Cookie Shots

The original creator of the Cronut, Dominique Ansel, has done it again.  His milk and cookie shots are a fun take on a favourite cookie with a glass of milk.  There have been numerous tv programs over here doing their own version so I thought i would give it a go.

I dipped the rim of one in chocolate.

I have used the Popsugar hack recipe but replaced the shortening with unsaltled butter.  I also substituted the candy melts to coat the inside of the shot with dark chocolate, much tastier in my opinion.

I halved the recipe (yes, including the egg yolk) and it made 5 cookie glasses using my metal panna cotta moulds.  They baked for 10 minutes longer than recommended, and I think they could have had another 5 on top of that.  They were quite fragile but the chocolate layer made them nice and sturdy.

They were a bit of fun that the kids loved but I’d rather have a glass of milk and cookie the old fashioned way.
