Frozen Funnel Cake – Update
As promised, I am getting back to you all on how freezing and reheating the funnel cakes went.
The funnel cakes that I made to freeze were much smaller, about the size of the top of a cupcake. I put the cooled cakes into a container and straight into the freezer. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cakes did not stick together and they were easy to remove individually.
I had the oven on baking bread and remembered I had the little funnel cakes in the freezer. I quickly popped a few in at 180°C (360°F) for 5 minutes. Sprinkled with some cinnamon sugar and had a taste!
The verdict: the frozen and reheated funnel cakes were just as good as the freshly made ones, yay! And covered in cinnamon sugar, they were delicious, just like donuts.
