“The Playground” MTB Cake
This cake was a quick, easy, and I think, an effective one. My son turned 10 this week and he is mad keen on mountain biking. Every weekend he goes off to ride Stromlo Park and particularly loves the “luge” and “The Playground“. The Playground is a series of obstacles that are quite challenging and rely on good balance. Angus has completed all challenges in The Playground, his balance is incredible. The kids found a picture of a groom’s cake online of a similar park and it was decided that this would be the one!
The obstacles were made using Pretz glued together with some chocolate. The tree trunks are bread sticks with buttercream leaves. The cake itself was 2 layers, the bottom layer was lemonade flavour and the top was English toffee flavour. Sandwiched together with vanilla buttercream and adorned with “Joe Bender”.

where did you find the biker? I’m surprisingly having a lot of trouble locating one.
If you search “Joe Bender” online you should be able to find one. I think I got ours from an online bike shop.
What did you use for the trail part? The white stuff? Want to try to make a cake like this for my sons birthday! Thanks!
I used crushed up plain biscuits (cookies). Hope you have as much fun making yours as I did mine!
