Fiona Poole Stig Cake
Last week I had a request to make a cake for a 40th birthday. After much deliberation it was decided that a tyre cake with a figurine of the Stig (from Top Gear) would be best . Thinking that a figurine of the Stig would be readily available in the toy shops I agreed. After over a day of searching for said toy, I gave up! So, I tried my hand at sculpting one out of modelling chocolate. My Stig looks like he’s had a bit too much cake to eat compared to the real Stig, but it was the best I could do.

The cake was white chocolate mud cake with vanilla buttercream, covered in black fondant, on a black and white fondant checkerboard base.
The cake was delivered to the Rydges Lakeside in Canberra, unfortunately I don’t have a picture of the cake with the Stig placed on top as this was done immediately before serving by the customers.
